A wide range of attractions and events awaits you in Munich: of course, the first thing that comes to mind is the Oktoberfest, which year after year attracts people from all over the world to enjoy Bavarian beer and pretzels. Bask in the relaxing Bavarian way of life, which you can experience in beer gardens, the Englischer Garten park, or on the banks of the Isar and Eisbach rivers. The Bavarian capital also offers cultural highlights such as concerts, festivals, and exhibitions: how about a visit to the Pinakothek der Moderne, the Glyptothek, the Museum Fünf Kontinente, or the Haus der Kunst on the glamorous Prinzregentenstraße? Munich’s countless exhibition venues offer something for every taste. The city also boasts beautiful parks and gardens such as the large Englischer Garten with its Chinese tower, the Maximilian public gardens, and the Munich Botanical Garden, which is part of the Nymphenburg Palace and gardens. Other highlights of Munich include landmarks such as the Hofbräuhaus beer hall, the Allianz Arena, the Olympic Park with public gardens and a stadium, and the BMW Museum. Historically significant sights such as the Feldherrnhalle, the Church of Our Lady, and the New Town Hall on Marienplatz are also worth a detour. Book your stay at one of our a&o Munich youth hostels in the centre of Bavaria’s capital city, and discover the Bavarian way of life up close in Munich!
Unlike the youth hostels operated by the German Youth Hostel Association (DJH), you don’t need to be a member to stay at our a&o youth hostels. With a&o you only pay for your overnight stay and any services you might use such as one of our activity programmes. Our a&o youth hostels in Munich are centrally located and well connected, and therefore ideal for school trips, families, backpackers, and groups alike. We pay special attention to cleanliness and are strict about the quiet night-time hours (from 10 pm to 6 am); furthermore, you can do your laundry, host meetings or conferences, use the guest kitchen, and purchase tickets for even more exciting activities at our youth hostels. Leave behind the stress of travelling in our modern rooms with comfortable beds at a&o’s Munich youth hostels, and wake up ready to start your day! Munich is guaranteed to inspire you!
Planning a group, family, or school trip is not an easy task. We’ll proudly present our activity programmes with a range of leisure activities to you in more detail. After an exciting day chock-full of exploring, our guests old and young can play table football and billiards back in the hostel. Relax in our a&o Lounge and watch some Sky Premium TV or browse the web using the free high-speed Internet; younger children can romp about in the kids’ corner. Our friendly staff will be happy to provide you with recommendations and information. If you need a larger space with your school class or group, you can use the meeting room at the a&o Munich Laim youth hostel. In the evenings, we invite our guests to drop by the hotel bar to relax.
We’ve also got your catering needs covered: our youth hostels offer an extensive breakfast buffet in the mornings for 7 euros; children up to 6 years old get breakfast free of charge, from age 7 and up it is half price, and young adults aged 18 years and over pay the full price. For groups of 10 or more, we also offer dinner (by arrangement). If required, we can prepare packed lunches for you for 6 euros (there is a 50 cent discount for groups of 10 or more). These include a sandwich, fruit, confectionery bar, and a drink. Our snack bar is always there if you're feeling peckish in between meals.
