Become a member now - for free!a&o continue to expand their female only dorm offerings across Europe with multi-bed rooms exclusively for female travellers, providing a great option for solo travellers. These thoughtfully designed rooms feature an equipped bathroom with a powerful hairdryer, an extra mirror and good lighting. Phillip Winter, CMO of a&o Hostels, said: “More than half of our hostels have shared rooms for women and new ones are being added all the time.”
Whether its Hamburg, Munich, Aachen, Dresden, Weimar, Vienna, Venice or Prague - the list of locations with female dorms is constantly growing, with Stuttgart named as the latest addition. Up to four female dorms are available per hostel, each with four or six beds. Female dorms are reserved exclusively for women and even when demand is high, they are not comprimised.
At over 31,000 so far, the number of overnight stays in the first third of this year is 28% higher than in the same period last year. Around 50 multi-bed rooms for women are currently available in 21 hostels and the range is growing steadily. On average, an overnight stay costs around 21 euros, which is significantly less than the price of a single or double room. Depending on the season, there are offers from as little as 12 euros. a&o has been offering shared rooms for women since November 2015 and there is no surcharge for mixed dorms, which a&o also offers.
Travel alone, flexibly and safely
For the travel period July 28th to August 31st 2024, there is a 10 percent discount per person/overnight stay in a shared room – this is valid not only for the female, but for all dorms at a&o.
