The 29-year-old is the new Sales Manager for Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. This is the first time that the Berlin based hostel group a&o has filled the Benelux position, clearly underlining the opportunities in this region: "There are numerous exciting cities that are easy to reach and offer medieval sights as well as urban, modern life," emphasizes founder and CEO Oliver Winter. "Benelux still holds great potential for a&o."
Born in Keminmaa, in the Finnish Lapland, Anni Honkanen is a real globetrotter: Finland, Germany, Australia, the Netherlands and Austria are so far stations in the life of the 29-year-old. After couple of years of business studies and working in software sales, she is delighted to be returning to the hotel industry: "It feels great to be back home." Honkanen has been part of the a&o team since 16th of October. From Berlin and on her trips to the Benelux, she always emphasizes personality and individuality: "Encounters, conversations, exchanges are what make up my work and are personal motivation."
Old contacts and new relationships
Of course, key accounts also play a central role for Honkanen. But she looks further: new collaborations, lasting partnerships and positioning the brand in the public eye are her goal,personality and reliability, participation and authenticity are her commitment: "Quick wins are also welcome," says the new Berliner, "if they last a long time."
